  Ruby Bridges  Did you ever think about who was the first kid to break the barrier of the rules for blacks and whites and what schools they can go to? Do you think that they had a hard time getting through their life when white people didn’t accept African Americans? Her name is Ruby Bridges, and she was the first African American kid to go to an all-white school. She was born black so she was properly taught at a young age that she couldn’t do things that other people could. So, by the time she was 6, she knew that she had to learn and do things differently. The board of education put out a test for black children to measure whether or not they could attend an all-white school. Ruby took the test and she happened to pass, along with 5 other kids in New Orleans. Ruby’s parents wanted her to go to an all-white school for better education.
